Explore the Ho Chi Minh City Floating Market in 6 Days

When you arrive at the Tan Son Nhat International Airport you’ll be met at the baggage claim by our friendly guide. Just look for the sign with our Sun Getaways Travel logo and your name. We’ll get you to your hotel and see that you’re comfortable, plus we’ll give you an introduction to the city at the same time. 

Then the rest of the day is yours to settle in, relax, and explore the area. Ho Chi Minh is a city that never sleeps and offers a plethora of great restaurants and bars catering to all tastes, from street food vendors to the rooftop bar, where international correspondents covered the Vietnam War and where the U.S. military attaché’s press briefing was held daily and dubbed the “Five O’clock Follies”. Whatever your interests, be sure to ask your guide for personal recommendations. 

Night 1: Overnight in hotel in Ho Chi Minh

Breakfast at your hotel, transfer for visiting Cu Chi Tunnels. After lunch in Cu Chi, the driver back to Ho Chi Minh City. This afternoon, depending on your preference, visit either the War Remnants Museum or History Museum, and the former Presidential Palace. Finish the day with a stroll around the city’s colonial architecture, including the Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall. 

Night 2: Overnight in hotel in Ho Chi Minh

This morning, leave the hustle and bustle of the big city behind as the scenery is gradually replaced with rice paddies and rural villages on your drive to Chau Doc. Stop en route in the town of Sa Dec where you will visit the lush gardens and fruit orchards of a local family and Kien An Cung Pagoda before having lunch in the former house of Huynh Thuy Le who is the main character in Marguerite Dura’s novel. After reaching Chau Doc, transfer to the top of Sam Mountain, a popular pilgrimage site, where you will enjoy sweeping views of the countryside as the sun sets.

Night 3: Overnight at homestay in Chau Doc

After breakfast, 8.00 am we depart for Tra Su – take a boat trip into the forest, you will immediately feel like you are harmonizing with nature because of all of the impressive pictures of cajuput, the fragrance of the flowers and the music-like noise of birds, insects and animals making people relaxed comfortable. 

From the observation post, you can overlook the forest with an area of nearly 900 ha, home of many birds and animals, including some rare ones. Have lunch in the forest, relax on hammock or experience the monkey bridge,… Return to land for the drive to Can Tho stopping en route to visit the bamboo basket-making hamlet of Long Thanh. Arrive in Can Tho, check in hotel, free time.

Night 4: Overnight at hotel in Can Tho

Take a leisurely boat trip to explore the picturesque tributaries of the Lower Mekong River ( Bassac River), then proceed to visit the Cai Răng floating market which is the liveliest in the whole religion. 

Have you ever tasted Vietnamese vermicelli soup? Well, now go and see how it is made. Then wander around the village and meet the friendly local people and experience how to cross a “Monkey bridge” which is built with only one stem of bamboo. Visit the orchard garden. Stop for lunch. On the way back to HCM city by bus, the last stop is to see how incense sticks are made.

Night 5: Overnight in hotel in Ho Chi Minh

You have free time in the morning until your private car arrives to take you to the airport for your next destination.
