Australian citizens have access to two tourist visa options for Vietnam:

  • Visa on Arrival (Single and Multiple Entry) valid for 30 days
  • E-visa (Single and Multiple Entry) valid for 90 days.

2. Steps to Get Vietnam Visas for Australians

Vietnam provides >>> E-visa options to all nations and extends visa-free stays.

The essential requirements for applying for tourist visas to Vietnam include:

  • An Australian passport valid for at least 6 months upon entry into Vietnam, with a minimum of 2 blank pages.
  • A soft copy of your passport’s full personal details page.
  • A soft copy of your portrait.
  • An email address to receive OTP (One-Time Password) and visa results.
  • Credit card/debit card for online payments, or cash if opting for the visa-on-arrival process.

Fill out the online application form to obtain an Approval Letter. (Australian citizens applying for Visa on Arrival should liaise with specific travel agencies authorized to issue the Approval Letter).Complete the secure online visa application form and proceed with the payment.
Receive the Approval Letter via email.Receive the E-Visa letter directly in your registered email within the designated processing time.
Upon arrival in Vietnam, present the Approval Letter, along with 2 passport-size photos, your valid passport, and the stamping fee in cash. Submit these required documents at the immigration counter to receive the visa-on-arrival stamp.Download your E-Visa letter and present it to the Vietnam Immigration Officer upon your arrival to finalize your entry into Vietnam.
